Colorado is experiencing an unprecedented boom in oil and gas drilling.
It is critical that any fracking activity be done in a responsible manner that avoids harm to property values, protects Colorado's water supply, and protects the public health and environment.
Drilling activity near radioactive materials, Superfund sites, explosives, endangered habitat, or in residential areas poses serious risks if not handled properly.
In the interest of our people, land and water, I am asking that you please vote "yes" on SB 107, the Fracking Safety Act.

Questions about the SB 12-107 bill;
ReplyDeletewhere is the Commission's website where info will be posted?
how much is the 'bond' required to be surrendered in case of water rights damage...(who's water rights?) and it is only enforceable/applicable if within a 6 month period from the (IV) 'initial' fracturing of the well in one part and had previously stated," if the pollution occurred within 6 months after the completion of the hydraulic fracturing of the well." This does not bode well for the consistency of the 'law' being considered here. The 'summary' statement is incorrect.
this also deals only with water safety, not air pollution, noise pollution, soil pollution.
Sincerely interested in how far this 'bill' is actually going to protect our envirnoment. Penni
